BEESY founder, Elys Roberts was
happy leading a team of 600 experts
in consumer insights and brand
consulting across diverse sectors,
spending time with his family, and
playing in local soccer leagues.
Then, an unexpected new passion
for behavioral science sparked a
transformative journey.
A blended team with a background in strategy, marketing, market research, and behavioral science
A colleague introduced Elys to the discipline of behavioral science, and he was immediately captivated by the promise it held. He hired two b-sci professors to launch a Behavioral Science Center of Excellence at the agency to experiment with our understanding of human decision-making, and determine whether it could reshape all customer insights and marketing functions.
But Elys also had a deeper motivation: a fear of one day looking back with regret for not making a greater impact on the industry he has worked in for most of his career. That drive propelled Elys to establish BEESY in 2018, fusing academic behavioral science expertise with insights acumen and commercial application to bring the science of decision-making to the market research sector, where the primary goal is to understand decision-making.
And he was fortunate enough to find several like-minded professionals who are just not satisfied with the status quo, share the same sense of purpose, and are incredibly passionate about effectively applying behavioral science to help advance our clients’ businesses. And so BEESY was formed.
In the years that followed, BEESY blossomed into a force for behavior change. Our diverse team now spans individuals from over 15 countries and helps the world’s top biopharma companies break through behavioral barriers, maximizing clinical impact and improving patients’ lives. Tech-enabled from day one, we leverage AI and authentic people intelligence to raise qual and quant methodology to maximum potential. We’ve even partnered with top academic institutions to help train the next generation of behavioral scientists. Several years after Elys’ behavioral science breakthrough, BEESY now leads the behavioral science wave in pharma.
We are excited to share our passion and knowledge with you, and believe we can help you make a difference!
A vision for behavioral science to transform and elevate the consumer insights industry to a position where it plays an indispensable role in commercial decision-making was the catalyst for Elys to found BEESY. He believes that this can only be achieved by demonstrating real commercial impact via the practical application of deep behavioral science expertise.
Elys comes with 20 years of experience in the biopharma industry – on the client and agency sides, including sales & marketing, consumer insights and behavioral science.
Most recently as CEO of Marketing Practices at Ipsos, Elys led a team of 600 consumer insights, social media, and brand consulting professionals working across multiple sectors including healthcare, automotive CPG, energy, financial services, restaurant and retail, and technology and telecom. He also founded the Ipsos North America Behavioral Science Center, and established partnerships with academic institutions such as the Yale Center for Consumer Insights.
Elys holds a First Class Honors degree (equivalent of summa cum laude) in History from the University of Manchester, speaks regularly at industry conferences, is the Treasurer of the North American Foundation for the University of Manchester, and held prior advisory board positions at MRII, Pharmaceutical Executive and PMRC.
Elys enjoys traveling with his wife and their two young kids and discovering new vegetarian restaurants in New York. Soccer is a huge passion and he does not let a steady stream of injuries (old age?) prevent him from playing in two leagues, including the New Jersey Premier League.
